1. Introduction

Jones Inc. ("Jones Inc.," "we," "us," or "our") is a youth-focused foundation providing free camps and clinics for children ages 7–11 from New Haven and the greater Connecticut area. We are committed to protecting the privacy of the families we serve, especially given that our programs are designed for young children.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using our website, you agree to the terms described below.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly, such as when a parent or legal guardian:

  • Registers a child for a camp, clinic, or program

  • Signs up for our newsletter or mailing list

  • Fills out a contact or volunteer inquiry form

  • Makes a donation

  • Submits photos, testimonials, or other content for us to feature

This may include a parent/guardian's name, email address, mailing address, and phone number, and a participating child's name, age or grade, emergency contact information, and any relevant health or accommodation information needed to safely run our programs.

Information collected automatically, such as standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring site) gathered through our website hosting platform and any analytics tools we use. This helps us understand how our site is used and improve it.

Information from cookies and similar technologies. Our website may use cookies to support basic site functionality and, if enabled, analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Notice)

Our programs serve children ages 7–11, and we take special care with any information related to minors.

  • Our website is not designed to collect personal information directly from children. All registration, forms, and account creation are intended to be completed by a parent or legal guardian on the child's behalf.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 through our website without verifiable parental consent, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • If we become aware that a child has submitted personal information directly without parental involvement, we will delete that information promptly.

  • Parents and guardians may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us (see Section 9).

4. Photos and Media

Camps and clinics may involve photography or video for use in newsletters, our website, social media, and promotional materials. We only use images of participating children with prior written parental or guardian consent, collected through our program registration or a separate media release form. Parents may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us.

  • With service providers who help us operate our website and organization (for example, our website hosting provider and email/office platform), who are only permitted to use the information to provide services to us

  • With coaches, program staff, or volunteers directly involved in running a camp or clinic, on a need-to-know basis (e.g., emergency contacts, allergies)
